Lennon Killer's Parole Hearing Transcript
What follows are excerpts from the just-released transcript of Mark David Chapman's October 3 parole hearing at New York's Attica prison. Jailed for the 1980 murder of John Lennon, Chapman's freedom bid was rejected by a Division of Parole panel. During the hearing, Chapman expressed remorse for the murder, explained that he was "young and stupid" at the time of the killing, and claimed that he has never thought of harming Yoko Ono or Lennon's children.
Pages 1-4: Chapman recalls the night of the murder.
Pages 5-6: "I don't think I'm a celebrity."
Pages 7-10: "What I did was despicable."
