Anthony Salerno was photographed by the FBI in February 1985 following his arrest--along with 10 other wiseguys--for their leadership roles in New York City’s five Mafia families. Known as “Fat Tony,” the Genovese crime family figure was subsequently convicted at trial of racketeering and sentenced to 100 years behind bars. Salerno died in July 1992 at age 80 while at the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri.
