Would-Be Bride Busted Over Prenup Battery
Days before wedding, woman, 26, is jailed
JULY 23--A couple set to be married this weekend got into an argument over signing a prenuptial agreement that turned violent and resulted in the would-be bride’s arrest for domestic battery, according to court records.
Investigators allege that Molly Rose Hogan, 26, and the male victim were engaged in a pre-nuptials quarrel late Sunday night in their St. Petersburg, Florida residence.
The victim told cops that Hogan grabbed him around the head and struck him on the chest, torso, back, and legs, causing “multiple physical injuries.” The attack, the man said, was prompted by “a heated argument over signing a prenuptial agreement prior to marriage.”
The victim “attempted to escape from the defendant multiple times,” and was ultimately separated from Hogan by witnesses who corroborated his account of the incident.
Police allege that one witness, the victim’s brother, was bitten on the arms by Hogan as he sought to stop her from battering his sibling. Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the 11:30 PM confrontation.
An arrest affidavit does not offer additional details about the prenup dispute. Or whether the wedding--set for Saturday, July 27--was still on.
Pictured above, Hogan was arrested for domestic battery and simple battery (for allegedly biting the witness) and booked into the county jail on the misdemeanor counts. She was released from custody yesterday afternoon on her own recognizance.
A judge ordered Hogan to have no contact with her prospective future husband or brother-in-law. She will be allowed a one-time visit to her residence (in the company of police) to retrieve personal belongings.
