Ted Williams Will Stay On Ice

Ted Williams's eldest daughter gave up attempts to keep her father's body from being permanently frozen after a Florida judge ruled today (12/20) that she should receive a share of her father's $645,000 trust. Bobby-Jo Williams Ferrell, who had battled her half-siblings, John Henry Williams and Claudia Williams, over the fate of the Splendid Splinter's remains, withdrew the petition to have her father's body removed from an Arizona cryogenics lab after a Florida Circuit Court judge filed this decision to divide Ted's moolah three ways. John Henry and Claudia had previously argued that they and their father had signed a note stipulating that all three be frozen after their deaths, while Ferrell had filed court documents indicating that the Hall of Famer wanted to be cremated and have his ashes "sprinkled at sea off the coast of Florida."
