"Page Six" Editor Busted
Gossip titan Richard Johnson in Manhattan drunk driving arrest
JUNE 2--As if the embattled Page Six needs more bad news, the popular New York Post gossip column's editor was busted early this morning for drunk driving.
Richard Johnson, 52, was nabbed just after midnight as he drove near Manhattan's Meatpacking District.
According to a Criminal Court complaint, a copy of which you'll find here, Johnson, driving a 2005 Ford Escape, smelled of booze, had watery and bloodshot eyes, and slightly slurred speech when stopped by a Manhattan Traffic Task Force cop. He declined Officer Robert Gluck's request to take a blood alcohol test.
Charged with two misdemeanors, Johnson was arraigned this morning and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a July 31 court appearance. (1 page)
