MAY 4--Meet Dale Stevens. The 90-year-old Oklahoma man was arrested yesterday for assaulting a police officer 50 years his junior after the nonagenarian was stopped for disobeying a traffic control device. After his 2003 Buick was pulled over, Stevens allegedly struck Sergeant Daniel Yorio in the arm and resisted arrest. According to a Municipal Court complaint, Stevens, 5' 11' and 150 pounds, was charged with obstructing legal process and battering Yorio. The 40-year-old Liberal (Kansas) Police Department officer is 5' 10' and 270 pounds, an offense report notes. Stevens, pictured below in a mug shot snapped at the Seward County lockup, is scheduled for a court appearance next week. With his bust, Stevens becomes the second-oldest arrestee featured on TSG. Texan Harriette 'Dolly' Kelton, 97, was nabbed in April 2004 on a warrant issued for nonpayment of a citation issued for an expired auto registration. Thanks to Andrew Mahoney, KIUL news director, for a heads-up on the Stevens arrest. (3 pages)
