Gunplay Came After Male Duo's Foreplay
Accused man was left with handprint on his rear
JANUARY 6--Turns out a Florida Man did not like it so rough.
Police say James Newland, 61, and his 33-year-old boyfriend repaired last Friday to Newland’s bedroom “to ‘have relations’ meaning they were sexually intimate.”
According to cops, the younger man said Newland told him “He liked it rough,” so he smacked Newland’s butt "hard enough to leave a handprint.”
After Newland “told the victim to stop and that he was hurt,” the man apologized, put his underwear back on, and returned to the living room of Newland’s Fort Pierce home.
When Newland subsequently appeared in the living room, he allegedly grabbed a revolver from a side table and pointed the gun at the victim, saying, “You want to try me?” and “You wanna fuck with me?”
As the victim departed the residence, Newland, cops charge, fired one shot into his front porch’s pavement. During police questioning, Newland reportedly admitted to the shooting, but claimed that he “would never hurt anybody” and was only trying to scare away his beau (whom he accused of striking him with a gas can).
Newland, who smelled of booze and had slurred speech, gave consent to search his home, where cops found “approximately 9 firearms” and ammunition. Two other guns were removed from Newland’s car and, cops noted, they found “a bottle of lotion located on the left side of the bed in James’s bedroom.”
Seen above, Newland was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and two misdemeanor gun counts.
Newland was released from the county jail on New Year’s Eve after posting $25,500 bond. He has been ordered by a judge to have no contact with the victim. (2 pages)
