Landlord Gets Prison For Sex In Tenant's Home

Security camera recorded Colorado man's encounter

SEPTEMBER 22--A Colorado landlord today was sentenced to two years in prison for sneaking into a married couple’s apartment and having sex on their bed with another man, an encounter that was captured by a surveillance system in the residence.

Carlos Quijada-Lara, 40, was sentenced on a felony trespassing charge to which he pleaded guilty in late-July. In addition to prison time, an El Paso County judge ordered Quijada-Lara (seen at right) to serve two years of parole upon his release from custody.

Quijada-Lara’s conviction stems from a daytime tryst last November in the Colorado Springs home of newlyweds Logan Pierce and Mikaela DiGiulio, who rented the apartment from Quijada-Lara after answering a Craigslist ad.

Quijada-Lara’s encounter with another man was discovered thanks to a home security system installed in the Pierce-DiGiulio residence. When Quijada-Lara and his partner entered the bedroom, Pierce--who was at work--received a notification on his phone that the Nest surveillance system had detected noise in the apartment.

When Pierce checked the live camera feed from the $1100-a-month rental, he saw Quijada-Lara and his companion inside the bedroom.

A video of the six-minute tryst shows Quijada-Lara and his partner (pictured below) disrobing and engaging in oral and anal sex. When finished, Quijada-Lara’s partner wiped his genitals with the dress DiGiulio wore when she married Pierce. Quijada-Lara is also seen using a second garment to wipe a lubricant stain left on the bed sheet.

After Pierce provided the security footage to the Colorado Springs Police Department, Quijada-Lara was arrested.
