No Maas: Sammy Gravano's Blood Money

These documents detail the six-figure windfall mass murderer/snitch Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano has received for his work on the best-seller "Underboss." The book, written by Peter Maas, features Gravano's account of his years as Mafia boss John Gotti's sidekick. The records, which surfaced last week during Gravano's testimony at the racketeering trial of wiseguy Vincent "Chin" Gigante, put the lie to Maas's claim that he knew nothing about Gravano's haul (which might also include a $1 million movie deal). Shame on you, Peter. Now go wash some of that blood off your hands. (4 pages)

Note: The redactions in these documents were done at the direction of federal judge Jack B. Weinstein, who is presiding over the Gigante trial. Also, if you feel compelled to read about Gravano's life of crime (and don't want royalties landing in Sammy's pocket), visit The Smoking Gun's archive, which offers FBI debriefings with the psychopath.
