A Hollywood power couple is suing the manufacturer of Botox, claiming that the wrinkle-removing toxin seriously injured one of them and, as a result, left the other spouse companionless. According to this Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit, Mike Medavoy, who co-founded Orion Pictures and once chaired Tri-Star Pictures, and his wife Irena claim that she suffered severe pain and respiratory problems after receiving three Botox treatments from Beverly Hills dermatologist Arnold Klein. The couple's lawsuit, which was first disclosed by the Orange County Register, contends that Klein failed to warn them about the risks associated with the Botox treatments, which Irena received last year to combat migraine headaches. The toxin left Irena "essentially bedridden for a period of many months," according to the complaint, an excerpt of which you'll find below. The Medavoys are suing Klein and Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, a botulinum toxin now widely used to remove frown lines and wrinkles. (5 pages)
