A former housekeeper for Jon Bon Jovi is suing the rock star in a New Jersey small claims court for a whopping $430 in unreimbursed expenses. Maria Sliwinska, 55, last month filed the below Superior Court complaint against Bon Jovi (whose real surname is Bongiovi) after the singer allegedly failed to repay travel costs she incurred last year while commuting from her Kearny home to Bon Jovi's Monmouth County estate. "After several phone calls and letters requesting payment, there was no response," Sliwinska wrote in her complaint. Sliwinska, who is a licensed New Jersey home health aide, told TSG that she was hired, via a New York City employment agency, by Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea last March and worked for the couple for two months before being "terminated without reason and without notice" by the 40-year-old rock star. Sliwinska described herself as a "very responsible, hard-working person who did an excellent job" handling chores in the Bon Jovi home, a sprawling mansion resembling a French chateau ("I was one person taking care of a whole castle," said Sliwinska). While declining to disclose the reason Bon Jovi cited for her termination, Sliwinska said, "Mr. Bon Jovi's reason was ridiculous and a joke." During a brief appearance yesterday (2/13) before Judge William Gilroy, Sliwinska said she had, the prior evening, been contacted by an attorney for Bon Jovi and believed that the parties may soon resolve the financial dispute (Gilroy responded by adjourning the matter). TSG left a message for Bon Jovi at his Garden State chateau, but have yet to hear back from him. We also chatted with Susan Makarichev, Bon Jovi's spokesperson, who said she was unaware of the Sliwinska lawsuit, but would have the singer's lawyer contact TSG. We're still waiting. (2 pages)
