Attention Moms: Don't Get Caught Cheering On Your Kid In A YouTube Video Fight

A Florida mother who stood on the sidelines cheering on her daughter during a planned high school fight between the teen and another girl was arrested today for child abuse.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office affidavit, April Newcomb, 39, can be seen on multiple YouTube videos “encouraging” her daughter “to physically fight” with the other girl. The videos, one of which can be viewed below, were filmed by attendees of the fight, which occurred in a vacant field near Palmetto High School.

As seen in this still, it appears most teens present came prepared to record the fisticuffs. 

When questioned by a cop, Newcomb, pictured in the mug shot at right, claimed that she only attended the bout between the two 16-year-old combatants in order “to make sure nothing got out of hand.” She also wanted to look out for her daughter’s health since the teen had “sustained a skull fracture from a previous incident approximately two years ago.”

"Of course we were both wrong and I understand that," Newcomb said, adding, "I understand where ya’ll are coming from.”  

As her daughter is being throttled by a larger girl, Newcomb can be heard at one point yelling to her child, “Don’t fucking stop.” Later in the video, apparently serving as her offspring’s corner man, Newcomb advises, “Punch her in the fucking body.”

Newcomb can also be seen at the clip’s outset, arriving with her daughter’s entourage as the teen's opponent bounced about in preparation for the fight.

This is exactly why every dime I spent on private school for my kids was worth it. That, and the addition of two educated loving parents who behave in a civilized manner did provide scholarships and a future for my children. This so called "mother" who is the epitome of white trash and should be featured on the people of Walmart on a weekly basis, should receive a lengthy jail sentence as if she delivered every blow to her daughter herself. As anybody knows, one punch can kill somebody accidentally. Obviously, Mama IQ -88, who is the epitome of a skank and is the definition of white trash does not know this. And the idiot that said that many of the people there had scholarships and good futures waiting for him is wrong. I can assure you there is not a college bound one amongst them. Unless you count college courses in jail. Anybody that would go to a girlfight like that is an accessory. That used to be a good school. Now it is a shiathole full of morons. Sad.

listen here you uneducated bitch im the one that recorded this fight and yes i go to palmetto high. im not sure what your talking about with no education cause listen you whore im going into the coast guard and the girl that one which is my friend is going to USF so dont say shiat about palmetto like that and we dont have educations. Palmetto was never a good school its always been shiatty and im glad you put your children into private school because there gonna end up being nurses and some other gay job and there gonna get there ass whooped like this girl did. If there was a way to discourage trash constitutionally, I would sure as heck take a hard look at it. I don't think there is. So I don't think there's a choice here.

It seems like such a terrible shame that innocent civilians have to get hurt in wars, otherwise combat would be such a wonderfully healthy way to rid the human race of unneeded trash.

Get off your high horse! My kids have attended both private and public schools. In our suburban community we've found far fewer problems at the public school. Great, high-achieving kids for the most part. You are clearly one of those who are blind to the problems that exist in private schools as well. Your money helps buy those problems because your kids have the resources and sense of entitlement to violate all sorts of school rules and laws in general. Wait a minute, I just generalized like you did. Don't think that because you put your kids in uniform and pay for a certain model of education that your kids are saints and that they are surrounded by angels. Your blindness is so typical and will haunt you someday.

What's the big deal? Kids have been meeting after school to fight forever. Let them get it out of their systems. There was no need for the mother to go to jail. The mother shouldn't have even been there. I'm the sure the daughter was embarrassed to have mom there to watch over her. I would have been. Everything is made into such a big effin deal these days. Kids will be kids. Lighten up everybody. Everybody from the south is not white trash. The kids in the video looked like most of the kids I see around the Dallas area. Oh, and I do miss Bush. He kept us safe and unemployment was under 5%. Things went downhill in 2006 when the Dems took over the House and Senate and started spending like crazy.
