Lenny Kravitz's Toilet Troubles
Lawsuit: Leaky loo caused "catastrophic damage" to neighbor

OCTOBER 22--An overflowing toilet in Lenny Kravitz's $13 million Manhattan penthouse caused "catastrophic water damage" to a neighbor's apartment and now an insurance company wants the rock star to reimburse it for a six-figure damage claim. In a New York State Supreme Court lawsuit filed Wednesday, Amica Mutual Insurance Company claimed that, in August, a Kravitz commode became "blocked, clogged and congested with various materials," leading to major water damage to the downstairs apartment of businessman Joel Disend, who paid $2.84 million in March 2001 for his fifth-floor spread. In its complaint, a copy of which you'll find below, Amica notes that it paid Disend's $333,849.77 damage claim and should be repaid that sum by Kravitz due to the musician's "negligence and carelessness." We're praying for a quick settlement, since nobody wants to learn more about those "various materials" in Lenny's leaky loo. (3 pages)
