Trump Fanboy Guilty In Gay Pride Defacement
With Trump flag flying, man did burnouts atop street mural
DECEMBER 8--A Donald Trump fanboy today pleaded guilty to vandalizing a LGBTQ+ street mural with his pickup truck, which was flying a giant Trump flag as it performed multiple burnouts atop the painted installation.
Dylan Reese Brewer, who turns 20 later this month, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to criminal mischief and reckless driving causing injury to property or person, both misdemeanors, in connection with the incident last year in Delray Beach’s “Pride Intersection.”
Judge Daliah Weiss sentenced Brewer to 12 months probation, ordered him to attend anger management classes, and perform 75 hours of community service. Brewer’s driver's license was also suspended for a year and he will have to pay thousands of dollars in court fines and costs, as well as $5698.71 in restitution to the City of Delray Beach.
Brewer was originally charged with felony criminal mischief, but that count was reduced as part of a plea deal. As seen above, Brewer’s burnouts were recorded by a surveillance camera.
The street mural, painted to resemble a pride flag, was installed by the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
Brewer’s Dodge Ram, police reported, was outfitted “with a large ‘President Trump’ flag” when it screeched across the roadway in February. The vehicle's license plate--registered to Brewer's parents--was "4USA5," an apparent reference to Trump being the country's 45th president.
Brewer, a registered Republican, has attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, which is less than 10 miles from Delray Beach. He played on the school’s hockey team and, according to Facebook posts, races automobiles. Brewer, seen above, is registered to vote from a waterfront home in Clearwater owned by his parents, a realtor and a funeral home operator.
The gay pride mural appears to be catnip for Trump fans prone to automotive vandalism. The installation was defaced in June 2021 by Alexander Jerich, now 23, who used his Chevy truck to burn skid marks into the mural. Jerich, who pleaded guilty to felony and misdemeanor counts, was flying a giant “Trump Train” flag while damaging the mural. At the time of his crime, Jerich was participating in a “President Trump Birthday Rally (Driving) Parade” sponsored by the Palm Beach County Republican organization. (5 pages)
