WTC Prosecutors To Use Multimedia Evidence

Government lawyers prosecuting so-called 20th hijacker Zacarias Moussaoui intend to introduce into evidence photographs of more than 2800 people killed in the World Trade Center attack. In a motion filed today (8/8), federal prosecutors noted that the thousands of pictures were needed "so the jury properly understands who was murdered instead of merely hearing statistics." The prosecution filing, an excerpt from which you'll find below, also seeks permission to introduce the photos of the victims (as well as various videos and images of the "collapse and the accompanying carnage") via a single witness, in a bid to streamline the case against Moussaoui. Prosecutors identified that government witness as James Wheeler, a veteran Port Authority detective. (3 pages)
