The border boys at the U.S. Customs Service each carry a set of wallet-size cards bearing handy information like the Miranda warning (in four languages, no less.) The plastic cards, selections of which are reproduced here, afford agents easy access to a variety of federal policies and procedures. Included on these cards is Customs's rules for conducting strip and (wince) cavity searches. While the flow chart is a bit confusing, we now know to avoid any of that messy "internal body carrying."
