JULY 1--Just three days after filing for divorce from Rod Stewart, model Rachel Hunter abruptly withdrew her petition and asked a Los Angeles court to toss her case against the wrinkly rock star, from whom she separated four years ago. On June 19, Superior Court officials granted Hunter's dismissal request (a copy of which you'll find below), thereby killing off a divorce action she filed on June 16. In her complaint, Hunter cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce and noted that the couple, wed in 1990, would share joint custody of their 11-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son. Since Hunter's lawyer did not return several TSG phone calls, we can't really say what prompted the tort turnabout--though since the case was bounced "without prejudice," Hunter is free to again slap the 58-year-old singer with a complaint--one that will presumably have a shelf life in excess of 72 hours.
