Kobe Bryant Case Will Go To Trial

CHARGED: FBI details case against security-breaching college student

OCTOBER 20--Following two days of graphic preliminary hearing testimony, a judge ruled today that Kobe Bryant will have to stand trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Colorado woman. In a nine-page decision, a copy of which you'll find below, Eagle County District Court Judge Frederick Gannett found that probable cause exists to bound the NBA star over for a District Court trial. In his ruling, Gannett noted that while prosecutors presented a "minimal amount of evidence" during the preliminary hearing, that evidence, "taken in a light most favorable to the prosecution," was sufficient to "induce a reasonable belief" that Bryant committed sexual assault.
