Green River Killer's Chilling Confession
NOVEMBER 5--Admitting that he "killed so many women I have a hard time keeping them straight," Gary Ridgway, the so-called Green River Killer, pleaded guilty today to murdering 48 women in a serial killing spree that began in the Seattle area in 1982. The 54-year-old Ridgway's chilling confession is contained in a "statement of defendant on plea of guilty" filed in Superior Court. Below you will find a chilling excerpt from that statement. As a result of a plea bargain, Ridgway will avoid execution and be sentenced to life in prison without parole. (9 pages)
