On its face, the lawsuit filed last week (1/23) against Suge Knight by his former attorneys looks like a normal claim for nonpayment of legal fees (in this case north of 550 grand). But in the world of Death Row Records, nothing is really normal.
During depositions, for instance, rival posses loitered around while their confederates took part in the Q&A sessions.
As this excerpt from the Los Angeles Superior Court complaint shows, the stiffed lawyers from McPherson & Kalmanson thought this amounted to "adverse and potentially dangerous conditions." Along with the unpaid bills, the firm is looking for $2 million in damages. (5 pages)
