Cops: Girlfriend Assaulted Trying To Stop Beau's Overdose On "Fred Flintstone Vitamins"

A Florida man is facing a domestic battery charge after he allegedly pushed and shoved his girlfriend to the ground as she attempted to stop him from overdosing on what turned out to be “Fred Flintstone vitamins,” police reported.

During an argument with his girlfriend--who had announced her intention to break up with him--Aaron Hostetler, 21, made “an attempt to make it appear as though he wanted to commit suicide.”

Believing that Hostetler was “swallowing what was supposed to be sleeping pills,” the woman tried to intercede. But Hostetler “slammed her” and then pushed her to the ground, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

As for the pills in question, Hostetler, a deputy noted, “stated that it was just Fred Flintstone vitamins.”

Pictured in the above mug shot, Hostetler was booked into the county jail early Thursday on a misdemeanor charge. He was later released after posting $4250 bond, and is scheduled for a December 6 court appearance.
