Boy, 15, Charged After Yelling Anti-Scouting Slur Into Window Of School Gym

A 15-year-old Illinois boy was charged with disorderly conduct after he yelled a derogatory anti-Scouting comment through the window of an elementary school gymnasium where Cub Scouts were gathering.

According to a Downers Grove Police Department report, about 100 people were in the gym last week for an event where Scouts build their own derby cars out of wood when “a male juvenile yelled loudly and clearly into one of the windows, ‘FUCK THE CUB SCOUTS!!’”

After dialing 911, a female witness followed a group of suspects, and heard one boy repeat the slur several times. The woman was "upset, alarmed and disturbed” by what had occurred and was willing to sign complaints, cops noted.

Officers were able to identify the foul-mouthed offender, but due to “several high priority calls” they took the teen home to his parents instead of to jail for booking. He appeared Monday at a suburban Chicago police station and was cited for disorderly conduct.
