PUMMELED: Estranged hubby claims drunken Liza beat him
OCTOBER 23--Turns out Donald Rumsfeld harbors some private doubts about the U.S. terrorism war and operations in Iraq and Afganistan, according to a recent memo authored by the Secretary of Defense. The document, a copy of which you'll find below, was provided last week to several Rumsfeld deputies. Rumsfeld writes that coalition forces would prevail in Iraq and Afghanistan, though "a long, hard slog" was ahead. And while the country "has made reasonable progress in capturing or killing the top 55 Iraqis," similar progress targeting Taliban leaders has been "somewhat slower." And as for tracking down Osama bin Laden's disciples, "We are having mixed results with Al Qaida, although we have put considerable pressure on them--nonetheless, a great many remain at large."
