Nick Nolte Hit With Teen Sex Lawsuit

DECEMBER 3--The parents of a teenage girl who was sexually assaulted last year in the home of Nick Nolte have sued the actor for negligence, claiming that he was aware minors were using alcohol and drugs during parties at the family's Malibu home.

According to the below Los Angeles Superior Court complaint, the girl, who was 15 at the time of the January 2003 incident, was assaulted after she was given the date-rape drug GHB by partygoer Nicholas Woodring and an unnamed minor.

Woodring, 22, was originally charged with several felonies, including rape, but pleaded in March to a single misdemeanor count of having sex with a minor. He was sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation.

The lawsuit claims that Nolte is liable for unspecified damages because he was "aware of the propensity" of a resident security officer and one underage partygoer to provide "alcohol and/or drugs to minor children." The complaint also notes that Nolte was aware of "the use of these intoxicating substances for the purpose of gaining compliance to certain acts of sexual harassment."

The 63-year-old actor, of course, has had a working familiarity with GHB, having been high on the drug when arrested in Malibu in September 2002 for drunk driving. He subsequently copped a plea and was sentenced to three years probation, counseling, and drug testing. (5 pages)
