Streisand Goes To The Dogs
Singer requires K-9 sweep of arenas before U.S. tour dates
OCTOBER 24--As she travels the U.S. on tour, Barbra Streisand is so security conscious that she requires a police K-9 team to sweep arenas before she performs, according to the singer's concert rider. Streisand's security requirements--which include metal detectors at all doors--are detailed in a September 12 rider, an excerpt of which you'll find below. The 'thorough inspection' by the K-9 team, which is required before the 64-year-old star's pre-show sound check, is presumably geared toward discovering explosive devices. The 16-city Streisand tour, which kicked off earlier this month in Philadelphia, features a top ticket price of $750 and a duet with a bumbling George W. Bush imitator. (2 pages)
