Gay WWEdding: Billy And Chuck Tie Knot

Meet Monty Kip Sopp. He's the 38-year-old wrestler known professionally these days as "Billy," one-half of the tag team duo set to participate tonight (9/12) in a televised gay "commitment ceremony" on impresario Vince McMahon's "Smackdown" program (but don't look for a corresponding announcement in this Sunday's New York Times). Sopp, pictured below in a mug shot from an old disorderly conduct arrest, is scheduled to "wed" Chuck Palumbo, his sidekick in the dynamic "Billy and Chuck" rasslin' duo. But Sopp apparently is not really a homosexual, he just plays one on TV. In fact, Sopp was married for ten years before his wife Tina, claiming the union was "irretrievably broken," filed for divorce last year (the couple has two boys and the divorce action seems amicable). Along with dividing standard marital assets, the Sopps need to divvy up portions of Butkus Sports, the pair's amusingly-named corporation. TSG desperately wanted to speak with Sopp about his impending nuptials, but we got his machine when we called the Florida crib he's now sharing with his sister Heidy.
