Police Pursue Pennsylvania Pierogi Pilferer
Burglar only stole bag of dumpling delicacies
JUNE 2--A burglar broke into a Pennsylvania residence and only stole a bag of pierogies valued at $10, according to police.
The suspect, cops say, last month burglarized the apartment of Tyler Whyte, 26, who lives in Trout Run, a village 15 miles from Williamsport.
The thief made off with a five-pound bag of Mrs. T’s brand pierogies, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report. Investigators valued the pilfered pierogies at $10.
In addition to stealing the frozen pierogies on May 20, the burglar caused minor damage to drywall in the home’s kitchen.
“Investigation is ongoing,” the police report notes.
Founded in 1952, the Pennsylvania-based Mrs. T’s Pierogies describes itself as “the largest provider of pierogies in the country,” offering “many new flavor combinations, as well as the original classics.” The pierogies are “equally amazing boiled, baked, sautéed, grilled, air fried or tossed in a slow cooker,” according to the firm’s website.
