Nine More Women Claim Doctor Branded Them
Nine more women have come forward to say a Kentucky surgeon branded their uteri with the initials of his alma mater.
The women yesterday (2/19) sought to add their names to the lawsuit filed last month against Dr. James Guiler by 38-year-old Stephanie Means, who alleged that Guiler used a cauterizing instrument to burn the initials "UK"--he's a University of Kentucky graduate--on her uterus during an August 2002 hysterectomy.
Like Means, the nine women were also given videos of their operation (by Guiler) that clearly showed the surgeon adding his alma mater's initials to their organs. A copy of the amended complaint that the women are seeking to file in Fayette Circuit Court can be found here. (8 pages)
