Cops: Man Assaulted Boy With TV Remote In Dispute Over Watching Cartoons Or Wrestling

A dispute Saturday night over whether to watch cartoons or wrestling ended with a Louisiana man throwing the TV remote at the head of an eight-year-old boy, who ended up with a black eye when the device struck him, according to police.

As a result, Ronald Adams, 49, was arrested for cruelty to a juvenile, according to a probable cause affidavit prepared by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. It is unclear what the relationship is between Adams and the boy, whose father reported the incident to authorities.

The boy told a sheriff’s deputy that Adams “wanted to watch ‘wrestling’ and that he wanted to watch ‘cartoons’ when the altercation occurred at the residence” in West Monroe. The child added that Adams “threw the television remote at him and hit him in the left eye causing it to turn black.”

When questioned by Deputy Mark Graves, Adams, pictured in the above mug shot, claimed the boy had gotten the black eye from “jumping off the pool ladder” earlier that day. Graves noted, however, that the pool “had very little water in it.”

Adams, currently being held in the county jail on the felony rap, has yet to appear in court, where bond is likely to be set.

I live in the south, in West Monroe, Louisiana. And all people are not hillbillies or rednecks. There are some very decent people down here you just really need to not judge people like that. There are some hard working, trying to survive, generous people in Louisiana. I know that Working Liberal was just spitting words out, but really there are some wonderful people here. Like me ;)
Yes, there are and I've met some there. And I love hearing the Louisiana accent.
Nice aimin' there, Billy Bob!
WOW I can't believe the Dad called the cops. I would've whooped his ass for laying a hand or remote on my Son.
how do you break a hillbilly's finger? punch him in the nose. actually i am from SOUTHERN california
Love the South and its people. Trash doesn't reside in any unique location.
"Working Liberal" lived in the south for two years on 'business"? I was unaware that collecting welfare was considered a business.
One little hissy fit to destroy one little princess' reputation. He's probably watching Judge Piro right now, trying to think of a better defense than a pool mishap.
A tall monday morning glass of South.
As opposed to a tall glass of typical "north". Ghettos with 47% illiteracy rates and testosterone challenged white boys posting from their mother's basement.
